About Us

Reclaim Timber is a mobile sawmilling, timber salvage, and firewood service. We specialize in the repurposing of fallen trees, turning them into custom lumber and premium wood products with a story. We pride ourselves on our sustainable harvesting practices, our commitment to reducing wood waste, and the deep-rooted connections we’re fostering between people and the land. We offer complimentary timber salvage assessments and evaluations and use a portable high-performance hydraulic sawmill for fast, precise custom milling. We also offer hydraulic firewood processing and delivery services for salvage timber better utilized as fuelwood.

Founded in 2022, Reclaim Timber is an Indigenous-owned business based in Larder Lake, Ontario, Canada. The company is led by Haley Laronde, the Founder, Owner, and Operator, alongside Tyler Snow, who serves as the main sawmill sawyer, equipment operator, and Timber Specialist. Haley grew up in Temagami, Ontario, and is a proud member of Nipissing First Nation and the Teme-Augama Anishnabai. She established Reclaim Timber with the mission of reducing waste and repurposing storm-fallen trees into valuable products.

Tyler is from Kirkland Lake, Ontario, and brings extensive experience in heavy equipment operation and metal fabrication to the team. Together, Haley and Tyler are outdoor enthusiasts who enjoy spending time in nature with their dog, Ruby.

What next? We are researching sustainable methods to optimize our processes and expand to repurpose wood offcuts and byproducts produced from our operations. This is another way we can model our commitment to sustainable practices and waste reduction while maximizing the potential use of local timber resources.

Trees fall due to natural events such as storms, high winds, and severe weather conditions. This creates both challenges and opportunities for sustainable wood management and repurposing.

A shared responsibility

94% of Canada’s forests are on publicly owned land, this means that preserving forest ecosystem health is a shared responsibility and commitment of sustainable forest management Canada-wide.

Sawmilling industry

In 2020, Canada’s sawmilling industry was the second largest producer of softwood lumber globally and consisted primarily of softwood lumber producers and directly employed about 28,000 people.
